About the tour

The city of Paris was born thanks to the river Seine. Not only did it serve as a vital source of water, it acted as the main means of transportation to effect trade with other cities and it offered a natural layer of protection against warring factions. It was only natural that many important monuments were built next to the river. The Cathedral of Notre-Dame, city hall and of course the Louvre, to name but a few. Of course a majestic river would be incomplete without some equally elegant bridges such as Pont Neuf, which is the oldest standing bridge across the Seine. Luckily we'll be able to pass all of these sites as we explore what the river means to Parisians as we join them to stroll along the river.

Meet your local guide

It's an understatement to say Florent knows Paris. Born in this wonderful city, Florent says he confidently knows every nook and cranny. Having completed over 2000 tours, we believe him. He's a self-declared history, art, and archaeology fan. What he loves most is sharing the best parts (and secrets) of Paris with you! “In French, if you add two letters to Paris, it becomes Paradis (Paradise in English)” he laughs. And paradise, it truly is. Be it exploring Paris' gastronomical delights or catching an auction, walking along the River Seine (which Florent gallantly swam), exploring spots where Hemingway lived or its sprawling gardens, Florent takes you on an exciting tour through his favorite city. “I love sharing my discoveries, explaining the boisterous history of Paris and showing places that are very hard to find otherwise, and of course getting to know new people every day!” Florent says.

There’s nothing better than listening to Florent talk about Paris! He loves his city as much as I do. Every trip I learn something new. It’s just the most beautiful place and makes me happy!

Another superb trip led by the splendid Florent. I find him congenial, extremely knowledgable, with skill to weave historical events with present circumstances. He is well-prepared for his tours and keeps a good tour pace to allow viewers to absorb the surrounds. In addition, I appreciate how well he manages use of the phone+gimble for a smooth video presentation. I eagerly will join any of Florent's future tours as there is an endless amount to learn from him. Merci.
