About the tour

I’d like to take you to the very first railway station of the Russian Empire - Vitebskiy Railway station 🚉 ⠀ It was opened in 1837 to a commission of emperor Nicholas I to connect the downtown with one of most glamorous royal residence - Catherine’s Palace. ⠀ The art nouveau edifice is the result of reconstruction that took place at the turn of the XX century. It made the station even more beautiful. Join me on my tour along this amazing station. We’ll walk along the halls with mesmerizing design, see the historic platforms that are still used and learn some stories from everyday life of the station throughout 150+ years.

So pleased we managed to get into the station this time. Stunning building- it just shows how maintaining old buildings is so much better than demolition. Anna’s infectious enthusiasm is catching: really love her tours.
