About the tour

This is our dream that comes true. Said gondolier and friend and I (Igor) we are proud to show you our dream. Slow tourism in Venice lagoon with a typical venetian boat call "Bragozzo", the boat has been made all by hand and it's a custom made boat, realized from a typical project of the 1800. This will be our introduction to the bay of St. Mark. Enjoy the ride.

Meet Igor

I’m Igor (that’s pronounced ee-gor, in case you are wondering!) and although you may not think it’s an Italian name, I am 100% Italian. I grew up in this area, between Treviso and Venice and I’m incredibly passionate about my region and 2 cities. I studied tourism, in Italy we have a special type of high school dedicated to tourism, and languages and I have been working in this sector since I graduated. I started in a hotel near Venice, then moved to one in London, which was an amazing experience. When I came back to Italy, I moved to with Globus and travelled all over Europe, from Portugal to Russia and the North Cape to Greece. Seeing so many places was great and I learned a lot meeting people from all over the world. In 2007, my grand tour ended, and I came home to Venice, where I qualified to work as a guide in the Veneto region (yes, in Italy you need a licence to work as a guide). I love taking my guests around this wonderful region, showing them all the fantastic treasures we have here. Whether you would like a tour of Venice, or a tailored, escorted experience with hotels, transfers and visits, let me be your Venetian expert! If you have questions you’d like answered or have no idea where to start planning your trip, get in touch with me and I will help you with suggestions, hints and bookings. I’ve been listed in Rick Steves’ guides to Venice, Italy and Europe since 2008, so I must be doing something right.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Venice with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Venice. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

It was lovely seeing Venice from different views than we got walking through the city. And kudos to you for having the tour in such weather! Thank you so much. (and ...even though they've not been translated into Italian, I love the Donna Leon stories because they take me through the Venice I love and hope to return to soon.) Susan D from Michigan

Igor was a fantastic tour guide. His tour was entertaining and informative despite the poor weather conditions. I can't wait to "join" him in Venice again.
