Meet Stephan

Stephan

Stephan is a real Dutchie, he was born in Delft (the city of Vermeer), grown up in Gouda (the cheese city), studied in Leiden (city of Rembrandt) and he lived in Rotterdam (the harbour city) before moving to our capital Amsterdam in 2006. After a career in technology as an Online Strategist, he decided to leave behind the corporate world to start guiding visitors of Amsterdam and started his own private tour agency, Amsterdam Experiences. That’s when he discovered that walking and cycling around the city with international visitors is a lot more fun than a desk job! As a guide, Stephan loves to show his virtual guests the hidden gems of Amsterdam through the eyes of a local. He has a passion for telling stories about Dutch history and culture. Stephan is very enthusiastic about the Netherlands and also guides tours in Delft, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Gouda, Leiden and Den Hague. Stephan’s tours cover a wide range of topics, whether that be sensitively tackling difficult subjects, such as Anne Frank and Jewish history of Amsterdam. However, he is equally comfortable being spontaneous, whether visiting goats in a goat farm to riding his orange flowerbike around with the flowerbike man himself. Stephan also now has tours in Belgium, covering Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent. So join him on the bike or by foot, and see the highlights of the Netherlands or even perhaps Belgium.

The tulips were wonderful and he showed them beautifully. The colours really showed up without the sun.

Really appreciated all Stephan's info about tulips and the fact he was standing in the rain showing us such a wide range of unbelievable varieties of magnificent tulips.

Stephan is a flexible, compassionate and knowledgeable tour guide. He showcases the tulips so well that its like we are actually there in front of the tulips, it's so well done you'd never know it was being streamed on the Internet! The quality is crystal clear and you forget its a tour and not reality. Top marks from me!
