About the tour

Visit a lively town, nestled between the mountains. When mentioning Tržič in Slovenia, shoemaking is the first association people get. But there are also dragons, skiing champions, leathermakers, musicians and courageous locals, known for their curiosity. Hear the local stories from a genuine Tržič girl, always proudly wearing shoes from her birthtown.

Meet your local guide

Neža

Beauties and stories of the Gorenjska (Upper Carniola) region in Slovenia have been surrounding Neza her entire life. Family trips and exploring Slovenia in detail are something she grew up with. Neza has a degree in translation studies and has been working as a flight attendant for Slovenian national carrier for fourteen years before obtaining tourist guiding licence for Slovenia in 2016. Since then, she worked as a tour guide in my region in English, French, Slovenian and Croatian languages. Knowing its history, folk tales and customs as well as its rich cultural heritage makes Gorenjska not only a stunning piece of nature, but also a place full of memorable stories. Neza will gladly share these stories with you.

Neža has been guiding since Apr 2016

Another excellent tour by Neza. Having been fortunate enough to experience the St Gregory's Eve tour, I was really looking forward to seeing more of Trzik and I wasn't disappointed. Neza mixed the stories and the history really well and she chose interesting stops for postcards. I'm sorry there weren't more people on the trip. They don't know what an excellent guide and a beautiful country they are missing. Ready for next week!

A spontaneous decision to join Neža in Tržič and I was very pleasantly surprised. Her tales of the towns history, legends and traditions were fascinating. What a charming place too.
