About the tour

The City of Treviso has been founded 2600 years ago, and has been a really important city in the northern part of Italy, especially during the medieval time. Today Igor will take you from a the Duomo di Treviso , a building dated back on the 6 century and totally restyle on the 1800, we will go around to see all the different restoration and styles that went through. We will admire houses with the pottery decorations, during the middle ages we used to have many tower houses to protect the city from invaders, we will be able to admire one of those still in a great shape! Your guide will show you the frescoes of the "urbs picta" including the house of the executioner, with really interesting design on the facade! A great postcard opportunity will be in the oldest street of the city, in this street nothing has changed for the past 700 years, the architecture is just delightful! The tour will end up with the stories of the girls that used to wash the cloths for the rich Venetians, the city of Treviso looks like Venice in a way and today you'll have the proof of it. Treviso is the city of water and frescoes and you'll have a great opportunity to see a good bunch of them today!

Meet Igor

I’m Igor (that’s pronounced ee-gor, in case you are wondering!) and although you may not think it’s an Italian name, I am 100% Italian. I grew up in this area, between Treviso and Venice and I’m incredibly passionate about my region and 2 cities. I studied tourism, in Italy we have a special type of high school dedicated to tourism, and languages and I have been working in this sector since I graduated. I started in a hotel near Venice, then moved to one in London, which was an amazing experience. When I came back to Italy, I moved to with Globus and travelled all over Europe, from Portugal to Russia and the North Cape to Greece. Seeing so many places was great and I learned a lot meeting people from all over the world. In 2007, my grand tour ended, and I came home to Venice, where I qualified to work as a guide in the Veneto region (yes, in Italy you need a licence to work as a guide). I love taking my guests around this wonderful region, showing them all the fantastic treasures we have here. Whether you would like a tour of Venice, or a tailored, escorted experience with hotels, transfers and visits, let me be your Venetian expert! If you have questions you’d like answered or have no idea where to start planning your trip, get in touch with me and I will help you with suggestions, hints and bookings. I’ve been listed in Rick Steves’ guides to Venice, Italy and Europe since 2008, so I must be doing something right.

Igor is an excellent tour guide. Aside from being knowledgeable, he attends to questions and requests from his audience without losing the flow of the tour. Love his sense of humor and infectious laughter. I highly recommend his tours. Thanks again, Igor.
