About the tour

Did you know that the first time that prescription glasses has been design was in a fresco in Treviso ? Around the 1352 by Tommaso da Modena . Our experience today will take us, in the history of the glasses and into the Italian fashion style. We will have the incredible chance to see the live demo from a local artisan to see how prescription glasses are made ! Something extremely unique as there are not many people that do that all over the world ! A tour that will show you the amazing skills of the made in Italy and why is so well renowned.

Meet Igor

I’m Igor (that’s pronounced ee-gor, in case you are wondering!) and although you may not think it’s an Italian name, I am 100% Italian. I grew up in this area, between Treviso and Venice and I’m incredibly passionate about my region and 2 cities. I studied tourism, in Italy we have a special type of high school dedicated to tourism, and languages and I have been working in this sector since I graduated. I started in a hotel near Venice, then moved to one in London, which was an amazing experience. When I came back to Italy, I moved to with Globus and travelled all over Europe, from Portugal to Russia and the North Cape to Greece. Seeing so many places was great and I learned a lot meeting people from all over the world. In 2007, my grand tour ended, and I came home to Venice, where I qualified to work as a guide in the Veneto region (yes, in Italy you need a licence to work as a guide). I love taking my guests around this wonderful region, showing them all the fantastic treasures we have here. Whether you would like a tour of Venice, or a tailored, escorted experience with hotels, transfers and visits, let me be your Venetian expert! If you have questions you’d like answered or have no idea where to start planning your trip, get in touch with me and I will help you with suggestions, hints and bookings. I’ve been listed in Rick Steves’ guides to Venice, Italy and Europe since 2008, so I must be doing something right.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Treviso with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Treviso. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

What I managed to watch before my internet connection died was fascinating and I wish I could have got it to reconnect so I could join in again. Not a VT or tour guide issue so this is NOT a complaint!! I love Igor’s tours. They’re always full of wonderful detail and information.

I am new and entered the tour late. The sound was very bad the camera was moving too fast for a little while. I had to leave around 12 minutes in the tour as I didn't understand what was being explained
