About the tour

It was HRH Prince Charles of Wales, probably the greatest ambassador of Romania now, who made Romanians realize in the last decades that the real and beautiful Romania has always been and will always stay in the rural villages. The tour will take us to the impressive open-air Village Museum giving us the feeling that we are travelling to rural areas where the time simply stood by, as some of these areas are still inhabited for real and suffered minor changes over the centuries. We shall discover a real "village" in the heart of vibrant Bucharest, with authentic & representative households - but not only, from all over Romania and also learn about centuries-old traditions still very much alive in some regions of country.

Mihai led us around this museum of peasant houses explaining which areas they came from. We saw some interiors and could imagine how people live. He is friendly and interesting. The dreary weather made the tour less picturesque unfortunately.
