About the tour

This series "Tokyo Walk" aims to show you unique Tokyo neighbourhoods. Tokyo is a huge city divided into many neighbourhoods. As people in Tokyo rely on public transport, they speak of Tokyo's geography in terms of train stations, each of which is like a small city with its own character. In central Tokyo, there are about 880 train stations - meaning hundreds of districts to explore! Each episode features a train station and a district surrounding it. Tokyo Walk starts with the prominent red brick Tokyo station and Marunouchi area which is a beautiful business district surrounding the lush green Imperial Palace East Gardens, serving as the geographic core of the city. Let's explore Tokyo together! What we will see; ☑️ Tokyo Central Station ☑️ Outer garden of the Imperial Palace ☑️ Modern architectures

Meet Eriko Shiratori

Eriko Shiratori

Eriko has been sharing her love of Japanese culture with people around the globe since 2017. In her words, Japan is beautiful, unique, and weird all at the same time! She's been lucky to have traveled to dozens of amazing countries and she got a chance to live overseas, in Australia and Canada, for a couple of years. Being exposed to other cultures has given her a new lens to look at her hometown and its traditions. Her great-grandfather was a kimono craftsman in Tokyo, and today she is honoured to wear the kimonos that were passed down through generations. She is looking forward to exploring Japan and sharing a smile with you!
