Join me for a walk along Newcastle's historic Quayside, as we stop to admire some of the city's hidden secrets. We will see why the Romans decided to settle here nearly 2000 years ago, marvel over some of our iconic bridges, and learn about some of the famous people that have called this place their home. If we're really lucky (or unlucky), we might even bump into Newcastle's most famous ghost!
Rob has had an interest in local history for a number of years, especially the juicy history. As a journalism graduate, Rob enjoys getting out and talking to people and sharing stories from the place he has called home since a baby!
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Newcastle with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Newcastle. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Rob was an amazing guide, lots of great information and facts about Newcastle. He battled on bravely despite the windy conditions. A deadcat microphone cover should help you bud. Paul from Edinburgh

Thoroughly enjoyed Robs tour. We booked the tour because our brother in law is a Geordie but we would have enjoyed it without that connection. Thanks! (Our brother in law predicted that we Canadians would have difficulty understanding Robs Geordie accent but no trouble at all! )

Difficult to hear, Rob, from time to time due to the wind. When allowed, visiting a venue would be interesting as well as seeing the architecture of homes of those who helped change the appearance of Newcastle. Thanks again
