About the tour

Dylan Thomas was born and raised in The Uplands of Swansea. His childhood was his inspiration until the day he died and his playground was Cwmdonkin Park - a beautiful green space and park right next door to his birthplace; Number 5 Cwmdonkin Drive. His birthplace is now an Edwardian house preserved as it would have been when Dylan grew up but still functional and a bed and breakfast too! Adrian will show you the park that inspired so much of his work and which remains one of the jewels of Swansea to this day. He will end the walk at the poet's birthplace and introduce you to the team who run it. Throughout the walk, Adrian will use excerpts from Dylan's work to assist the story-telling.

This was something like my 300th tour, and definitely one of the very best. I hope to hear Adrian's voice in my head, when he was reading passages of Dylan Thomas' work, for a very long time. Quite superb.
