About the tour

Covered passages were the beginnings of what we call shopping malls today. Built for the most part in the 19th century, these arcades covered with glass roofs, created by piercing through other buildings, are a typically Parisian architectural feature. Most of them now house shops, tearooms and restaurants. Part 1 of this tour is in the vicinity of the grand Boulevards. This part 2 will take us to two of the most authentic passages next to the new Museum of collection Pinault : Galerie Vero Dodat and Galerie Vivienne

Meet your local guide

Patrick

Patrick isn't one to shy away from travel and adventure. "I was lucky enough to travel the world with my job, discover different cultures, and meet incredible people!" he says, after having explored multiple cities across Europe and Asia. On his tours, you may catch more than a surprise or two about Paris. "In fact, it is an everyday experience. I'm a native Parisian, but every day, I continue to discover new things, new secrets about Paris. It's a never-ending story," he laughs. It was his love for Paris that led him to become a guide. "I'm a father and a teacher, and I realized that my passion was to share my knowledge, so I decided to be a guide about one of my passion: Paris!" Patrick chips in. "I enjoy sharing the love and passion I have for my own city, Paris. Its monuments, its history, its gastronomy, its culture, and all of its little secrets. I can't wait to share all of these with you!" "At the end of my tour I always give a virtual bise - two in fact being a good Parisian!" he laughs.

Patrick has been guiding since Sep 2020

Only Patrick could make a walk through empty shopping passages into a history lesson. HIs attention to aesthetic details, like window molding, adds to the enjoyment.

I enjoyed this trip with Patrick so much. These Parisian covered passages are so beautiful. Filled with beautiful shops to go window shopping. places that you would probably never find if you were on holiday by yourself. I will now seek them out if I am lucky enough to get to Paris in the future. In the meantime I can just dream with Patrick's expert help. Thank you Patrick.

Perhaps because of COVID only visited two passages so I was disappointed. Patrick was an enthusiastic guide.
