About the tour

We invite you to join us and explore one of the best preserved medieval citadels of Europe which is still inhabited up to present days. First mentioned in 12th century as a town, Sighisoara is one of the 7 fortified cities of Siebenburgen (the German name for Transylvania) where the German craftsmen and merchants, known as Saxons have been invited to defend the borders of Transylvania. The UNESCO citadel is also known for the house where Vlad the Impaler was born in 15th century, but the Tower Clock, the Blacksmith' tower, the Tailors' tower or the Church on the Hill are part of our tour among others, all on the cobblestone streets of Sighisoara.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

I really enjoyed Mihai's tour of the Citadel. It was very interesting to listen to his explanation of the history and current state of the area. Another part of the world I never would have never learned about without Heygo and Mihai.

Mihai was a knowledgeable and personable tour guide! What an interesting place to see. I would love to attend his other tour as well. Would you consider offering that at one in the 5:30 time slot?
