Come with me as I take you trekking out on horseback into the Theban desert where we will see how the landscape changes, we'll take in some more Egyptian culture and see how the pharaohs didn't just build tombs but palaces too! We will navigate the hills that run adjacent to a long-forgotten canal of Amenhotep III before finishing off with a gallop that will take your breath away!
Lesley has been living in Egypt for more than 22 years and loves to explore the local areas of the city of Luxor. She has been leading hiking tours around Luxor now for more than 5 years and specialises in taking people off the beaten track to the agricultural areas and desert that skirt the ancient sites.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Luxor with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Luxor. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

This Tour was excellent and very unusual. The Guide was very knowledgeable and I really liked that she explained the ancient history of the area and the different sites that are being excavated. The scenery was beautiful. I have done this tour twice now and it is very good.

Lovely to be on horseback in the desert and interesting commentary on the terrain.

This horseback desert tour was one of the best on Heygo. Such a sense of isolation and the sunset was beautiful. Wish I could be there in person one day. Spectacular.
