About the tour

Let's walk together on the southern walls of the Old City of Jerusalem from Jaffa Gate to The Western Wall and the Golden Dome, and talk about the Christian, Armenian and Jewish story of the city! On our way, we will see the Tower of David, the citadel of Jerusalem and possibly the place where Jesus was presented to Pilate, the Valley of Hinnom (the biblical hell), the new city that is expanding ever since 1860, the Armenian Quarter, Mount Zion, Dormition Church, The room of the Last Supper, Cephas House (yes - where Peter denied Jesus 3 times), the location of the Siloam Pool, the security barrier with the west bank and much more! We will finish with the majestic view of the Western wall and the Golden Dome.

Itamar was such an enthusiastic guide that it was a pleasure to be on the tour. He made it so interesting, was informative and pointed out all sorts of things. He knew how to engage the participants. I haven't visited Jerusalem for many years and he made me feel as if I was there. The city looked so beautiful and I felt like I wanted to hop on a plane to go and visit. Thank you, Itamar! Unfortunately I did not have a very good experience yesterday as for some reason I kept getting only half a picture- and the when that was sorted, no sound! Had to watch it all on my phone. I think however that it was too long! And I was disappointed that we only saw well known places from a great distance! But our guide was obviously very knowledgeable and spoke well throughout.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Itamar was very good to give us such a long time. He also brought along maps picture and artefact which was very inspirational and he sang in Hebrew which was also very evocative of where we were.He read from the scriptures which helped to put it all in context. I think a little more on history and age of wall would have helped. Maybe I just didn’t hear him say. For instance I was unsure as to age of David’s Tower and other facts about that. Also, maybe giving other names for places with which some of us are familiar; i.e. ‘The Dome of the Rock’ as I know it and the ‘Wailing Wall’. Will do this tour again and lookout for others done with Itamar. Well done!
