About the tour

Jump on board with Ashley as he joins an aerial crew monitoring the movement of the Sardine Run. Sardine shoals can be up to 7kms long, 1.5kms wide and 30m deep, perfect for spotting from the air. This important natural phenomenon attracts marine life like no other. Various species of whales, sharks, dolphins, and other predatory fish come to feed on the 'bait balls' of sardine in the ocean, with seabirds diving into the action to grab what they can. Ashley and the aerial team will be searching for signs of the sardine bait balls, marine life, and birdlife in the hope of observing the frenzied feeding session. *****PLEASE NOTE*****: - Sightings are not guaranteed and it can take time to locate the marine life, if it at all. This is a completely natural phenomenon and the wildlife will appear when it is ready! - Due to the nature of this tour there may be background noise from people, machinery, or engines that can not be avoided.
