On this tour we'll follow the footsteps of pioneers who laid the foundation for what later became Tel Aviv - the first Hebrew city in the world. We'll be walking around Neve Tzedek, which was established in 1887 as the first Jewish neighborhood outside the walls of ancient Jaffa. Starting at the Suzanne Dellal Centre - one of the original schools in the neighborhood - we will then head down Chelouche Street to hear about the Chelouche family and its role in the development of Tel Aviv. The name sounds familiar doesn't it? During the tour Tomer will try to shed light on the connection between Jews and Arab, and Jaffa and Tel Aviv. He'll tell us some interesting tales about a Nobel laureate who used to live in Neve Tzedek and the intricate tale of the woman he fell in love with. The tour will wrap up at Eden Cinema, the first cinema in town, where we will learn more about the history, culture and architecture of this charming neighborhood.
Tomer has been guiding tours in the city since 2008. What started out of fascination about his family's history - the Chelouche family is one of the founding families of Tel Aviv - has seen him meet new people and show the city that has transformed over the course of several generations. On Tomer's tours, you'll get to discover fascinating stories about its history, culture, and much more, especially since Tomer's ancestors participated in the establishment of the first Jewish neighborhood built outside the walls of ancient Jaffa, and the modern city of Tel Aviv.

My big respect and admiration for Tomer for doing the tour despite the difficult circumstances. He brought a lot of energy and made all of us feel very welcomed from the beginning. Thanks for explaining to us what is happening from a local's point of view. The tour itself was great, very privileged to have you share with us your family's history and your knowledge about the city. I discovered you late in HeyGo, but better late than never. So for those still hesitating, just take one of his tours and you will be addicted. Highly recommend it!
