About the tour

Bungalow Heaven is a quiet, shaded, tree-lined neighborhood of historic early 20th Century bungalow homes, many built during the Arts & Crafts. This Landmark District, in Pasadena, CA, was established in 1989 to preserve the architectural and historical significance of these beautiful homes. Bungalow Heaven has also been listed in the National Register of Historic Places and designated as one of the “10 great places in America” by the APA. The homes were built in the Craftsman and English Revival-style architecture from 1900 to about 1925. Both styles reflect a movement away from ornate preferences to houses designed in harmony with nature. We will wander down the Oak and Jacaranda tree-lined streets, marveling at the architectural details of this unique style and period, and talk about life in the greater Los Angeles area when the population doubled almost overnight.

Meet LA Linda

LA Linda

Linda is unabashedly in love with California. Born and raised in Southern California, she and her husband moved to Los Angeles when she was just a young slip of a thing. She immediately embraced all that LA had to offer from tacos to waterfalls and everything in between, including the golden glow of the entertainment industry that permeates everything and everywhere. Her tours are like her, spontaneous and joyful with a very large dose of curiosity. They include a little bit of everything: history, architecture, culture, food, art, and the natural world that exists amidst the urban sprawl. This crazy mix of cultures and its people is what makes LA so wonderfully unique! If you join her on one of her adventures, be ready for a lovely time, and maybe a little musical outburst. Or two. She can't help it.

I really enjoyed the tour/tease about one of our beautiful communities in southern California. Just makes me want to go and do it myself. Really good background, knowledge of historical homes, architecture and the landscaping. Well worth it.
