Just next to Persepolis, there is a mountain with flat rocky texture known as the Necropolis (Naqsch-e Rostam). As you walk there, large crosses carved on rocky surface attracts your attention. 4 huge cross shape tombs, all with carvings and entrance to the burial chamber, belong to four kings of Persian empire. Although it is not possible to enter any of the tombs as they are very high and hard to reach, visiting this place is exciting.

Farzaneh is an excellent guide. The Necropolis was the 3rd part of the story of the Persian Empire and a fascinating finale. The sheer size of the rocks where the kings were entombed was simply amazing!
