About the tour

Perhaps less known, but certainly no less important is the fact that Skopje is the birthplace of Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, known worldwide as Mother Teresa. She was born in Skopje at the end of the Ottoman rule in Macedonia. Today's Skopje is a modern, dynamic city, and also the capital of one of the smallest countries in the Balkans. A city with at least 6000 years long history, which today is a wonderful mix of different nations, cultures, and religions. Like some older ladies, In the last 100 years, Skopje went through several facelifts, trying to look younger and more attractive and beautiful. Some of them were successful some not that much. Join this tour and learn more about life in Skopje today, enjoy the magnificent monument and fountain dedicated to Alexander III of Macedonia, hear the sad story of July 26th, and learn more about the early part of the life of one of the world's most famous humanitarians, by visiting the Memorial dedicated to her.
