About the tour

Naples is a city that has different aspects and souls. This virtual tour will take you to discover the Monumental and Royal Naples. We will start from the seafront, at the feet of the stunning Castel Nuovo where you can admire its magnificent architecture and the view of the bay with Vesuvius, the Sorrento peninsula and the island of Capri in the landscape. I will tell you about the greek legend of the mermaid Partenope. With my experience as an archaeologist, i will take you to discover the largest square in Italy: Piazza del Plebiscito. Here we will be able to admire the Canova statue, the facade of the Royal Palace of Naples, the San Carlo theater (the oldest opera house in the world!), The Liberty-style Galleria Umberto I and the famous shopping street, via Toledo with the baroque palazzos along the way. I’ll tell you where to drink a coffee and eat sfogliatella pastry in the most famous iconic bar of the city and where the real PIZZA was born for the first time in the world!

Brilliant insight into the history and architecture of Napoli - I never knew how incredibly stunning the city is and its being added to my list of must do’s when we’re able to travel. Raffaele is so passionate about archeology and history (and pizza!) and his tours are always fantastic. Yes, at times the sound goes or the picture breaks up, but for goodness sake, it isn’t the fault of the guides and often not that if the platform either, just atmospherics or some other external force. I wish people wouldn’t complain so much and simply persevere and if impossible, just rebook. These tours are free - I consider it a privilege to be allowed to participate 👍🏼 And they’ve brought me so much happiness over the past few difficult months of COVID restrictions. Thank you Raffaele and see you soon.

Raffaele is an expert in his knowledge of Naples, a city in Italy apparently often overlooked so that tourists can get to other jumping off points like Pompeii. There are many beautiful and historical sights in Naples, and Raffaele is so welcoming, that it makes you want to spend a week there in Naples. I highly recommend his tour.
