About the tour

Home to the theatres, the cafés and the oldest bookstore still active in the world, Chiado is the place to be! Let’s go on a time travel back to the 19th century and learn how this became the fashion district of Lisbon back then, where all the nice shops were located, the bourgeoisie and nobility frequented the opera house and the artists & writers debated politics and other aspects of daily life.

Meet Ines

Born and raised in Lisbon, I have very fond memories of my childhood and adult life here. I became a national licensed guide at the age of 22, after a degree in Tourist Guiding. I have had the chance to meet wonderful people from all over the world, and I was lucky to be able to travel abroad several times. I also worked as a tour manager mostly in Europe, and decided to settle down in my home city in 2017, becoming a full time local guide in Lisbon and surroundings, so I could learn even more about it and share it with you! I consider myself a storyteller that likes to weave the connections between history, people, heritage, nature and food. I am looking forward to welcoming here, whether virtually or in person! If you are coming to Lisbon soon, contact me for information on my private walking and minivan tours. Cheers!

Ines is a terrific guide. She shares a wealth of information. She shows a lot of different things on her tour. I loved this tour as she stopped along the way and showed us the oldest bookstore; a glove shop; and more. Her tour was delightful..and real "feel good" experience. And she gave us many postcard opportunities...including beautiful flowers. I was enchanted by the tour.
