About the tour

The Art of Making Pecorino Cheese, Close Encounter with the Sardinian Sheep As for food, there is nothing more characteristic of Sardinia than its cheese, especially that of sheep. With its typically shrubby flora typical of the Mediterranean maquis and its pastures in the wild gives flavors and unique scents to its dairy products and more. On this tour we will visit an ancient family-run dairy, we will know the principles of cheese production as it has been produced for 60 years at the Dedoni family of San Nicolò d'Arcidano, a small village in the province of Oristano. And of course, we will have the chance to know the real protagonists of this specialty, the sheep!

The cheese your was so informative. It left me wanting to go buy a few pounds of cheese. Silvia's tours are always jam packed with good information & tips. She always shares contact information for herself, & if she is with others their information as well.

Silvia was amazing guide for the tour. As a cheese fanatic, it was very interesting to learn about the process of cheese making. Amazed by this, what it seems to be a little farm, can produce so much cheese and cheese products. Too bad the connection didn't work out perfectly, but Silvia did what she could to give us the tour. Her husband was very helpful sending links too. Thanks to you, I learned about the greatness of seadas and hope I can make some. Grazie!

So cool to see pecorino cheese being produced! As Silvia said, sometimes you need to sacrifice technology for nature preservation. I was fascinated by the process and the preservation of traditional techniques. A must for cheese lovers!
