Newtown, Erskineville, and St Peters are vibrant, funky, youthful neighbourhoods in Sydney’s Inner West. Full of students and artists, members of both the LGBTQI and Aboriginal communities – these areas are fun, edgy, and gentrifying. Around every corner there is street art – from colourful murals covering whole sides of buildings to quirky little stencil pieces. Along the way we’ll pass pubs and cafes and learn a bit about the history of the area. NOTE: This is the South Newtown version of this tour. Every three weeks, I run this tour twice: once in the morning, and once in the afternoon, both following the same route. I rotate through three different routes, but I will always do the same route in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Elizabeth is an American by birth, Australian by choice. She is a happy immigrant and resident of Sydney for nearly 21 years. Having been fascinated with Australia since she was 12, Elizabeth found that when she arrived in Sydney in 2000, she already knew more about her new home than many of the Australians she met. She finally put all that knowledge to work as a tour guide in 2019 – just in time to really fall in love with it before Covid hit. From the iconic sights that always take her breath away no matter how many times she’s seen them, like the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, to the little-known but beautiful corners of the city, Elizabeth loves exploring Sydney and showing it off to friends and guests. She lives in Manly, on Sydney’s northern beaches. She’s been very slowly blogging her way through all 84 of Sydney’s beaches and is working on a travel memoir about riding her bicycle around Europe.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Sydney with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Sydney. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Great tour!! Thank you Elizabeth for showing the Street Art on the other side of the world (I´m in Buenos Aires). Like all forms of art it is a universal language, and we even share artists!

Elizabeth does such great research before taking us on her walks. Loved getting to see the street art in the Newtown area. Looking forward to seeing more areas.
