About the tour

From mid-July to early August, you can see pretty lotus flowers blooming in ponds and marshes across Japan. Lotuses spread out their massive round leaves to the sky and absorb abundant summer sunshine. Flowers of lotus can be observed only in the morning time at this time of the year. Yusuke takes you on a slow-moving, quiet morning walk around the Shinobazu Pond at Ueno Park on this tour. The park area used to be the grounds of Kaneiji Temple, and Shinobazu pond is famous for its habitat of dense lotuses that cover the pond’s surface. As always, he will give you plenty of postcard photo opportunities with various angles and close-ups with the backdrop of both the traditional temple hall and modern high-rise buildings. Please join him and enjoy beautiful lotus flowers together!

Yusuke's tours are always an absolute joy. We explored the park together, saw the lotus blooms, and temples and shrines. Yusuke has an easy to explaining his location and is brilliant at getting that perfect nature shot. I always look forward to his tours.
