About the tour

Forget Valentine's day, in Slovenia we celebrate love (among other things) on St. Gregory's day, the day of birds' wedding feast. The day is getting longer and in the shoemaking town of Tržič, on the evening of March 11th, kids send the small lit-up houses down the stream of Tržiška Bistrica river. Be a part of this celebration and hear more about ancient rituals behind this lovely tradition.

Meet your local guide

Beauties and stories of the Gorenjska (Upper Carniola) region in Slovenia have been surrounding Neza her entire life. Family trips and exploring Slovenia in detail are something she grew up with. Neza has a degree in translation studies and has been working as a flight attendant for Slovenian national carrier for fourteen years before obtaining tourist guiding licence for Slovenia in 2016. Since then, she worked as a tour guide in my region in English, French, Slovenian and Croatian languages. Knowing its history, folk tales and customs as well as its rich cultural heritage makes Gorenjska not only a stunning piece of nature, but also a place full of memorable stories. Neza will gladly share these stories with you.

Neža has been guiding since Apr 2016

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Tržič with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Tržič. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
