Forget Valentine's day, in Slovenia we celebrate love (among other things) on St. Gregory's day, the day of birds' wedding feast. The day is getting longer and in the shoemaking town of Tržič, on the evening of March 11th, kids send the small lit-up houses down the stream of Tržiška Bistrica river. Be a part of this celebration and hear more about ancient rituals behind this lovely tradition.
Beauties and stories of the Gorenjska (Upper Carniola) region in Slovenia have been surrounding me my entire life. Family trips and exploring Slovenia in detail are something I grew up with. Knowing its history, folk tales and customs as well as its rich cultural heritage makes Gorenjska not only a stunning piece of nature, but also a place full of memorable stories. A native of Tržič, now living in Bled, with a degree in translation for Slovenian, English and French, I will gladly share these stories with you.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Tržič with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Tržič. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

A nice tour exploring a wonderful festival I would have otherwise been totally unaware of. Was great seeing the mayor joining in.
