About the tour

Tony will take you through the wonderful narrow streets of St. George's. He will take you to the historic Town Square and the nearby replica of the Deliverance. We will visit the oldest church in the western hemisphere, St. Peter's Church, founded in 1612 and visit the unfinished church. I will stop by a couple of popular watering holes in the town and you never know who we may bump into. Step back in time as I stroll the centuries-old brick streets of the Town of St. George, Bermuda's former capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. St. George's is twinned with Lyme Regis in Dorset, UK. The well-preserved historic town and nearby fortress make St. George's and the East End a haven for British architecture, history and culture. Nearby, we will discover many unique natural attractions, including the limestone formations of Tobacco Bay St. George's is a town on St. George's Island, in Bermuda. It's known for being the territory's first English settlement. Colonial buildings on and around central King's Square include the 18th-century town hall. Nearby, the Tucker House Museum is a typical home from the 1700s, with displays of crystal, silver and period furniture. Other notable landmarks include St. Peter's Church, founded in 1612.

Meet Tony Brannon

Tony Brannon

I was raised in the entertainment world by my father who opened Bermuda's 1st International nightclub the 40 Thieves Club in 1962. Everyone from Mel Torme, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Ike & Tina Turner, Wilson Pickett, Tom Jones and dozens more performed at the 40. In 1970/1971 I was assistant to the tour manager on the Tom Jones US tour. In 1978 I built Bermuda's 1st disco - Disco 40. I have produced entertainment in Bermuda for over 30 years and created the Lennon Bermuda Peace Day Concerts. Artists I brought to Bermuda include: Nils Lofgren, Paul Carrack, Paul Young, Hiram Bullock, John Sebastian, Billy Preston, Jeff Golub, Roger McGuinn, Judie Tzuke, Squeeze, Maxi Priest, Shaggy, Biggie Irie, Splashband, Spice & Co, Tony O'Malley, Jimmy Keys, Peaches & Herb, Gary US Bonds, The Fab Faux, Ramsey Lewis, Stanley Turrentine, The Hamish Stuart Band, Jamie Lawson. If I could describe myself in only one sentence, that would be... MUSIC IS MY LIFE. Besides being my livelihood, music has been, through all these years, my inspiration, my joy, my solace in times of trouble, and my compass when I've lost my direction. Music gives me energy and purpose, adds meaning to my actions and always brings a ray of sun that guides me through the darkest night.

Excellent drive around St Georges, Bermuda with Tony. He showed us the Unfinished Church and explained the reasons why. Love the brightly coloured buildings in the town square and the roads around it. Thanks so much
