About the tour

Pull on your virtual walking shoes and get ready to enjoy a stroll with Tim in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Lying at the heart of east London, the UK’s most exciting urban park is home to some of Great Britain’s most famous sporting venues residing within beautiful parkland and waterways. Starting outside the Copper Box Arena – known as the ‘Box that Rocks’ - the tour takes in the north side of the park. The iconic symbol of the Paralympic Games – the giant Agitos – is the first landmark we encounter before a stroll along one the park’s many waterways. Next up the Olympic Rings appear on the horizon and on arrival we climb the hillock to take in the stunning views of the south of the park and beyond into central London. Learn about the history of the park - a legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games – from its development to the current day as we move on towards Lee Valley VeloPark. A celebration of cycling – including track, road, BMX and mountain biking – we’ll get close up to its centrepiece: the famous Velodrome. As Tim shares his personal experiences of some of the biggest sporting moments in the history of the park, we then reach its northern tip at the historical Eton Manor site. Now home to the Tennis and Hockey Centre – where Great Britain Hockey play their summer internationals - it’s a fitting place to finish the tour.
