"This is one of those churches of Salvador that you should visit even though you’re not Catholic. Preserving its history related to the slaves, the liturgy of the services makes use of music inspired in Candomblé, to the sound of atabaques (Afro-Brazilian hand drums). In this church, a Catholic mass that incorporated some of the elements of African culture, such as chants and dancing, is celebrated every Tuesday". (visitbahia.com) This is how the official website of the city of Salvador, Bahia describes this church. The "Igreja do Rosario dos Pretos" (Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Black People) is one of my favorite churches and places to visit in the Old Town, specially when we have the mess service on Tuesdays early evenings or Sunday's morning. We will walk in the old town, talk a bit more about the Afro Heritage and Black history in the most Afrikan city in Brazil. The most famous day to visit the old town is Tuesday, for the Blessing Tuesday ("Terça da Bênção ") - the reason for that? You will see and feel the energy of Bahia during our virtual walking tour in Pelourinho!! This tour is also part of the "History of Catholic Church in Brazil" Special Tours and I hope to see you soon in Bahia again!!

Great tours today, Sayurikoshima. They were both so interesting and informative. I had no idea that Brazil had enslaved people, never mind that the number was so much larger than that of USA. Thank you so very much for this wonderful tour. 👍
