About the tour

Episode four of my series focuses on the period between the end of February and the end of October 1917 - that is between the two Russian revolutions. A very unsettling time for the county. We’ll talk more about the people involved, the work of the newly formed Provisional government and other political forces, as well as the situation in the county in general. What people and events drove Russia to the end, on one hand, and the new beginning, on the other. We’ll see some areas of Saint Petersburg that I’ve never shown you before.

Meet Anna Levina

Anna Levina

Anna is a a licensed tour guide in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The curious thing about this city is that it’s very young - a bit more than 300 years old. However, in only three centuries the city’s managed to become one of the most magnificent cities of the world. Anna's goal is to tell the world about the beauty of her city, its history, Russian culture, heritage and how it all has influenced our everyday life. Regardless of your age, interests, origin and political views, St.Pete should be on the bucket list of every globetrotter because it has everything to meet the needs of the most sophisticated travelers.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Saint Petersburg with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 60 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Saint Petersburg. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

Fascinating historical narrative. Gorgeous sunset views. As Anna herself said, reflections of streetlights in the river looked like "Starry Night". And I had thought I knew most of Russian and Soviet history.... But no. So many interesting and new details. I had not known that Kerensky lived in the US till his death in 1960s.... and that there was a US Secretary of State Elihu Rouse who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.... Thank you so much. As another voyager said, when is your book coming out.

There is good reason that Anna has such a huge following. All her tours are outstanding. Her research, execution and suoerb command of English make for compelling viewing.
