** Please be aware that Queen Victoria Market is a Food Market and displays animal and fish products** One of the longest-standing foodie institutions in Melbourne is Queen Victoria Market, the largest open-air market in the Southern hemisphere with seventeen acres of fresh food! In part 3 of this tour, we will visit String Bean Alley and showcase vintage costumes and accessories, natural wool products, handicrafts, wooden toys, berets, bags, boots and the cuddly puppets from Endangered Animals Australia. Moving along we'll see a diverse range of fresh fruit and vegetables in season and then wander through the vast Dairy Hall to investigate the numerous cheese and smallgoods displays. We'll finish up inspecting top quality Australian lamb and our fresh seafood before a welcome coffee and doughnut.
Susanna is an avid reader of historical detective novels, a radio producer, civil celebrant, over-worked grandmother and, for fun, she reconstructs Ancient Roman recipes. For over 30 years she taught adults, particularly women, in the technical aspects of radio broadcasting and film production, or how to get out there and just do it. She's also been a social worker, a consulting psychologist, stage actor and barmaid. Susanna is a proud descendant of 19th century convicts, republicans and revolutionaries and still wants to be a time-traveller.
