About the tour

On this tour you can relax; there are no steep streets to walk up. So you can take off your walking shoes, put on your slippers and come and join your guide Claudia on this marvellous tour of upper Porto. We will walk by sights such as the city's old prison, Carmo church and its glorious glazed tiles, St Anthony's hospital, the very famous Lello bookstore and of course the cities iconic symbol Clérigos Tower and Church. But if you are familiar with my profile you know that somewhere, somehow food or wines will come along.

Meet your local guide

Claudia was born in Porto and in love with it ever since. Because she was raised up there she knows Porto's streets as the palm of her hand. In 2003 Claudia finished her degree in tour guiding and got her licence that same year. She has a short masters in wine and loves to try and discover new Portuguese wine always (of course!) along with the unique local gastronomy. Come and join her walking up and down the streets of steep Porto and be mesmerized by its beauty.

Claudia has been guiding since Jun 2003

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Porto with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Porto. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.

The tour would have been even better if we had the chance to explore the interior of Carmo and Carmelite Churches.

The area we visited was pleasant but I went to the tour more to see the bookstore. It is nice, but only for a minute... A suggestion for the guide is to be more careful with the camera, too wobbly at times and difficult for postcards.
