About the tour

Today we are going to discover the village that seduced and bewitched Lord Byron and other poets. An explosion of colors reflected on the cobalt blue mirror of the Gulf of the Poets. Portovenere was one of the most important outposts of the Republic of Genova in the Middle Ages: the big castle and the way the houses were built reflect the military function of the town in those days. Thanks to its strategic location, at the very end of the western arm of the gulf of La Spezia, Portovenere offers terrific views. In sunny days it is possible to admire a good part of the Tuscan coastline and on the opposite side the Cinque Terre coast. Let’s discover together this colorful fishing village, which has been recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997

Meet Fabrizio Ruffa

Fabrizio Ruffa

Fabri is Italian, he is a licensed local guide and he lives in Tuscany. He studied at the University of Turin in Italy and at Wolverhampton University in UK. He has always had the passion for art history and for telling stories… finally in a magic day of 13 years ago he discovered that there was a job where these two ingredients are fundamentals: the tourist guide! Well, he found a job to love! He likes to meet people and to share his time and experiences: “it’s a great reciprocal way to learn and to grow” he says. Guess his favorite hobbies? Traveling, traveling, traveling! 😀

The tour seemed to be interesting but the sound and picture was too uneven to enjoy it. Refreshing didn't help. I use google chrome and I usually get the tours OK.

Fabri was magnificent during the tour! Every moment is a postcard moment on Portovenere. You really get the whole package (virtual) experience in this tour. Definitely recommend! Really hope to see this place one day.

Fabri really understands how to capture the viewer's attention with historical, architectural, and anecdotal stories. Love the photo ops.
