About the tour

Anyone who walks through Porto Maravilha notices that the graffiti paintings on the walls contain different themes. This ranges from tributes to great samba dancers, such as Arlindo Cruz and Beth Carvalho, to panels that convey messages of protest, such as the one by artist Juliana Fervo, which shows the autonomy of women in the labour market. Other works exalt leaders of the black movement, who fought for racial equality, such as Martin Luther king. Other drawings on display highlight the ethnicities and miscegenation that built Brazilian society, such as the famous images by artist Eduardo Kobra. Just a unique and incredible way to discover Rio's Street Art Scene!

Meet Tatiane Araujo

Tatiane Araujo

Born in Rio de Janeiro, at the age of nine she moved with her family to Italy, in Rome, where she completed her studies and graduated in Sciences of Tourism in 2011. For three years she traveled and lived in different places around the world such as Nova York, London, Lugano and Barcelona. During her travels, she fell in love with the world of the arts and since then she has acted in different fields, from classical painting on canvas, through ceramics to street art. Back in Brazil in 2013, she graduated as a national and regional tour guide. Tatiane loves to combine her profession with the arts, promoting experience tourism centered on the city's cosmopolitan and artistic life, so in 2016 she created RioArtExperience receptive tourism company specialized in art and experience tours.
