Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest of Croatia's eight national parks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is a phenomenon of karst hydrography and the sequence of 16 turquoise lakes linked together with beautiful waterfalls and travertine pools are really as alluring as in the photos. The lakes are surrounded by beech and pine trees and are home to one of the most magnificent virgin forests in Europe. You will walk with me by the lakes and up to some amazing viewpoints. Join me on this tour and be a part of this unique story of water, lakes and waterfalls!
Barbara has been working as a full time tour guide since 2016, visiting every corner of the region, but especially the Dubrovnik area where she was born and raised. When she is on the ship working as a cruise manager across the Adriatic, she loves to tell you all the stories about the islands and picturesque towns of Dalmatia. She has also lived in Belgium, Luxembourg and the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, but it is the Mediterranean way of life and her true love - storytelling - that brought her back. She loves to travel, spend time in nature and hiking, exploring and being on the sea. When she travels, she likes to be inspired by the places she visits and the people she meets, and that's what she wants to do on her tours too!

Such a lovely national park; can't wait to return for part two to see the rest. The waterfalls everywhere are such a delight, and the river and lake views outstanding. Barbara was a great guide as she walked along the narrow paths. We were fortunate to ave Andrea, A guide from korcula, I believe. She added to the online chat, as there were many questions and much for our guide to focus on along the path. Such teamwork! Very enjoyable and scenic.

Wonderful trip to a place that is on my bucket list. I was in Croatia in July 1991 and the falls were ‘out of bounds’ as the Army were there. I will visit one day.
