About the tour

Saint Petersburg is the type of city that doesn’t give away its secrets to just any visitor. Sometimes even locals don’t know of some of its hidden gems... to say nothing of international tourists. I’d like to walk you around the spot that locals absolutely love but for some reason, not many guests know of. Founded in the early 18s century the New Holland Island is a real gem surrounded with late 19s- early 20s century architecture. In this area, you won’t find big royal palaces lavishly adorned with cartouches and gold on their facades. Here, the aristocratic mansions look elegant, reserved but nonetheless stunning. I’ll share with you some of the stories of what had happened behind those walls.

The lovely Anna - she is always the perfect host. Anna finds all kinds of locations for us to visit with her, and her knowledge is encyclopedic. Every tour with Anna is an eye-opener into the history of Russia. So glad so much of this magnificent architecture has survived. Thanks, Anna!

Excellent tour with Anna! She packed a lot of information in such a short time and she really timed the tour well to see the 'blue hour' and see some of the buildings lit up. Really lovely and charming place.
