Paris' Latin Quarter is full of surprises! Imagine walking down the oldest district in the city, filled with incredible history, charming cafes, and world-famous bookstores. Even the oldest tree in Paris can be found here. Curious how it got its name, or why it's famous? Florent will tell you all about this and more! On a guided virtual tour of Quartier Latin along the 5th arrondissement of Paris, you'll hear stories about the diverse neighborhood, discover hidden gems, and see some of the city's most popular attractions. From the Seine River to the stunning Luxembourg Garden, the beautiful Pantheon, the Cluny Museum, and the Sistine Chapel, Florent is going to flaunt the best of Paris. What’s more, you'll get to stroll along the popular rue Saint-Jacques, the oldest street in Paris that was created over 2,000 years ago, bordering the famous Sorbonne University. You'll also see some of the picturesque spots in Paris, and get a peek into the French Revolution and the Middle Ages through ancient tales of its culture and history. Paris' Latin Quarter is also close to some of the world’s most popular landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Arc de Triomphe. The Eiffel Tower is just about 4 kms away from the neighborhood. Even better, the city is home to one of the most famous tapestries in the world, the Lady and the Unicorn, housed at the Musée de Cluny. That’s not all! You don’t want to miss one of Paris’ best botanical gardens - the Jardin des Plantes. The city also plays host to one of the best museums in Paris, the National History Museum, featuring a zoo! If you're lucky, you may get a glimpse of Notre Dame Cathedral, the relics of Saint Genevieve, and the final resting place of Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Marie Curie, or even Alexandre Dumas on this virtual tour.
It's an understatement to say Florent knows Paris. Born in this wonderful city, Florent says he confidently knows every nook and cranny. Having completed over 2000 tours, we believe him. He's a self-declared history, art, and archaeology fan. What he loves most is sharing the best parts (and secrets) of Paris with you! “In French, if you add two letters to Paris, it becomes Paradis (Paradise in English)” he laughs. And paradise, it truly is. Be it exploring Paris' gastronomical delights or catching an auction, walking along the River Seine (which Florent gallantly swam), exploring spots where Hemingway lived or its sprawling gardens, Florent takes you on an exciting tour through his favorite city. “I love sharing my discoveries, explaining the boisterous history of Paris and showing places that are very hard to find otherwise, and of course getting to know new people every day!” Florent says.
