Small towns in Italy, more often than not, get overlooked because there isn't enough written about them. Oria is one of those little charming gems built on a fortified rock with an imposing castle from Medieval age standing very close to the Cathedral. On a clear day one can see the Ionian sea past the Olive and grape fields as you look south toward Manduria. With a bit of luck we will find the enchanting Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, built in 1750, open to admire its splendor. As we walk through the cobblestones narrow streets, we could run into a few surprises. Finally, we should be able to enjoy the golden lights of the sunset.
