About the tour

Onam is an annual festival in India's Kerala state celebrating the return of King Mahabali, a demon king from Hindu mythology. But known for his generosity and kindness, Mahabali is no typical demon, and Onam is no typical festival. Join Ashraf's tour to learn the whole story behind this fabled celebration and experience the beauty of the elaborate flower rangoli carefully constructed in Mahabali's honor. There's nothing else in the world quite like it, and it only comes around once a year... so don't miss it!

This was an interesting culture and tradition where family interact with this organic design with flowers and minerals, etc. Thanks

Lovely to see the ladies making their floral decorations just with petals, and taking such care with designs. Glad to learn of the Onan Festival too. Well done Ashraf.

This was a very good tour, away from major tourist destinations. It was my first Heygo trip to India and I plan to take more with this guide. How nice to see something not staged that made us feel like guests into an old friend’s home. Thank you. Tom G. Boston, MA. USA

It was lovely to see a family's celebrations and to share an insight into other peoples' lives.
