About the tour

This tour goes along a section of Norwich's popular Riverside Walk beside the River Wensum. It starts at Pull's Ferry, Norwich Cathedral's former water gate and ends at the Adam and Eve, the oldest pub in the city, dating from the 1250s. Other highlights include the medieval Great Hospital, 14th century Bishop's Bridge and its 19th century neighbour, the Red Lion pub, along with the story of the Norfolk Wherry and Cow Tower, part of Norwich's 14th century defences. There are views of the modern Jarrold Bridge, a fragment of the historic city wall and St James Mill, an 1830s factory built to try and revive the flagging textile industry.

Paul Dickson Tours

I am a Geordie from the North East of England, but have lived and worked in Norfolk for more than 30 years. I began doing guided tours for the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich in 2013. The hotel is one of the oldest in the country dating back to the the mid 13th century. Then I trained as a City of Norwich Tourist Guide from September 2013 to July 2014 and now run a range of in person tours in Norwich and the Norfolk Broads.

Thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the river and Cow Tower and the Adam and Eve pub. Beautiful memories invoked of when I lived in the city 20 years ago. Thank you. Will be back on more of your tours :)

Brilliant content spoilt only by video quality

I found the commentary very disjointed as the guide was replying to comments made by some of the viewers on the tour and parts of his talk were lost. I feel it would be improved if all viewers were on mute and questions and comments to the guide opened up at close of tour.
