About the tour

An essential part of any Oslo experience is located in the western part of the city. This is the author's sculptural theme park of the Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland (1869 - 1943). Oslo residents love to meet friends or take a walk with a kid along the green allees. For tourists and visitors, the park is a magnet, where people try to crack the code of the life's meaning. People call the park weird, wacky, beautiful, and awesome. Is it really so? Join the tour and find out yourself! In the first part of the tour, we invite you to get acquainted with Frogner Park, walk its alleys and walk across the bridge with Vigeland sculptures to the most extensive rose garden in Norway. Please note: viewer discretion is advised due to the nature of the tour. Your host for this tour is Olav, a local history student. He will take you on an exciting tour of Oslo, giving a window into the ever-changing land of Norway and its culture.

I have waited years to see these again and was not disappointed Olaf did a fabulous job explaining the significance of many of the sculptures. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see “Hothead” again!

The sculptures in the circles are well worth detailing as much as the other sculptures, they were amazing. Like to hear the interpretations, very interesting, thank you so much. I would not otherwise have seen this in my lifetime, thank you.

Really great tour by Olav. He's so professional despite his young age. A great role model to follow! He walks us through the bridge with many sculptures. He explained the meaning of most of them, including all the important and cool ones. I liked when he relates the meanings to his personal anecdotes about his life. Such a pretty park and glad he's doing tours here. Olav is full of energy and knowledge and it's a great pleasure to join him on his tours.
