First established in 1895 in the Lubiri (Buganda Kingdom's palace) and later shifted to Kagugube - in temporary structure, the market was in 1927 established in the middle of Uganda's Capital city -Kampala. The market is divided into two; one area being partially covered and closed in an old building where you can find hardware, clothes and tourist materials; and the open area where fresh produce from gardens is sold. Nakasero Market employs over 10,000 people including Rosemary's father. So join us this weekend as we go shopping for fresh produces and as we learn Ugandan Sign language for the different items and their names in Local language 'Luganda'. This tour will be guided in International Signs by Noah as well as in English by Rosemary!
At Infinity Ideas Network, we envision to create and make available equal job opportunities for Deaf and Disabled young people for their sustainable social and economic standards of living. WHY DEAF? In Uganda, they are among the most stigmatized people who often live in isolation and are excluded with from their communities, from the education system, healthcare and other vital services. Most times they are hidden away by their families as they consider this as a bad omen. If you would like to contact us then please feel free to send an email to email@example.com.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Kampala with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 60 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Kampala. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Good intentions there but some technical difficulties. It would have been nice to see the insides of some of the exotic fruit

What a fascinating tour, with lots of sights and sounds of the market. Rosemary's warm manner is so engaging.
