The UNESCO site, Lake Mývatn, was formed by multilayered lava flows creating a unique landscape. The flowing of lava across wetland created „hills“ on the flat surface – phenomena called pseudocraters or rootless cones. The extraordinary nature is home to one of the biggest bird sanctuaries in the country, among them close to 30 species of ducks. Division of tectonic plates is quite visible and some scenes from „Game of Thrones“ were filmed here and on locations nearby.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to North Iceland with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 50 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from North Iceland. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

An inspiring perspective of beautiful North Iceland. The soft watery colours of nature are magnetic. Albert’s dedication to showing tourists around create a thoroughly wonderful experience. Plenty of opportunities for great snap shots, but be quick because Albert does a count down and you could miss it if the HeyGo camera is slow.
