About the tour

Ratu Boko is about 3 kilometers south of Prambanan. Ratu Boko is perched on a hill 195.97 meters above sea level. Ratu Boko is the ruins of a palace, not a temple. Ratu Baka is also known as Kraton Ratu Boko. According to legend, Ratu Boko was once a palace for Ratu Boko, Lara Jonggrang's father. Ratu Boko was built by the Buddhist Syailendra Dynasty in the 8th century AD, but was later taken over by Hindu Mataram kings. This site is located 196 m above the sea level, on the highest point in the site, there is a small pavilion from which one will be able to see a panoramic view of Prambanan temple with Mount Merapi as the background.

The Palace was a great place to visit and despite the audio/visual problem (which was a national problem) Mukhlas still provided a great tour.

Mukhlas never disappoints. The location was so interesting and he had a lot of information to share. The sunset was absolutely breath taking. I look forward to taking this tour again when the network connections are resolved. Definitely out of Mukhlas' control, and he was so wonderful to continue on and show us the best of the location. Amazing guide.
