About the tour

It is a well-known fact that Minsk has preserved its Soviet heritage. There are a lot of places where the spirit of that epoch is still alive. And when tourists come to Minsk, they can’t help but be captivated by Stalinist Empire architecture-large squares and parks, spacious streets and avenues, massive columns and graceful arches. The main landmarks are concentrated in the very heart of Minsk – the Independence Avenue, that is one of the longest in Europe. I invite you to get acquainted with Minsk of 1950s, explore the first part of the Avenue that is a candidate into the UNESCO World Heritage List. What do Minsk Soviet Palaces look like? What is the first building constructed here after the WWII? Where is the Soviet Harrods? What is the main square in Minsk? There are really interesting stories and legends about Soviet Minsk, that I would like to share. You will feel that the spirit of the USSR has not been lost here yet.

Tanya is an absolutely wonderful guide, Minsk as a city has impressed me too. With her tour, I understood the capital of Belarus 🇧🇾 even better and how they accepted the Soviet Union as part of their history. Whenever you find a tour you can attend, go ahead and do it with her :)
