About the tour

Trams sound so Old World…. Milan has had trams since 1881 and at first they were horse drawn. Today several different models are in use, from modern super silent ones, to the charming, clattering ones of 1928 with wooden doors and seats. In this tour you will visit the narrow streets and medieval gates of the city centre, all whilst riding the tram virtually. You'll not only learn the history of the largest tram network in Italy, but also enjoy a narration of the buildings along the way and get a glimpse into the everyday life of this bustling city.

Meet Patrizia Milan

Patrizia Milan

Patrizia has literally "travelled the world and the seven seas" like in that famous song of the 80's. With no hesitation, after completing her academic degree in languages and tourism, she also got her Tour Guide certificate. Over the years she has been sailing on tall ship in Thailand, riding the Orient Express to Paris, exploring the Egyptian temples of Luxor, cruising past the glaciers of Argentinian Patagonia, admiring the Aurora Borealis in the Swedish Lapland, visiting wineries in New Zealand... Lately Patrizia has returned to her home country Italy and has been accompanying tours to Rome, Venice, Florence, Cinqueterre, Amalfi Coast to name a few. Then to further her education she got a certificate as Local Guide of Lake Como and Milan. The latter is where she lives but also where she grew up and she is loving sharing her city and its surroundings rich in history, art, but also modern architecture and up-beat events.

Always enjoy Patrizia' tours. So unflappable when plans don't go as hoped e.g. trams that are very late and connections mean long waits, but still talked cheerfully ...... It was a Saturday afternoon though and the city ( and the trams) so crowded! Well done Patrizia'!

I love all of Patrizia’s tours & this was no exception & worth setting my alarm for. Riding on the tram through Milan made me feel like I was there. The first tram was delayed but no problem for Patrizia as she enjoys interacting with others on the journey & answering whatever question was asked on whatever topic. Patrizia is knowledgeable of the history of Milan, friendly & has a great sense of humour. I enjoyed seeing the Navigli canal reflections & people out enjoying themselves. I look forward to many more tours with Patrizia. Well done.
