About the tour

About 52km north of Yazd, Meybod is a sprawling mud-brick town that is at least 1800 years old. On this tour, Arian will take us to a 400 years old Caravanserai and the Ziloo museum as well and will show us the incredible exhibition of historical pile less carpet. Next to the Caravanserai, we'll get to see an old post office and the facade of a traditional water and ice tank. Prepare yourself for an incredible visit in the middle of desert!

Meet your local guide

Arian

Arian graduated as a chemical engineer in 1992 and after twenty years working in this field , she came to the conclusion that she could serve her country as a tour guide much more better than an engineer! So she enrolled in a tourism institute and started a new life. She found that she should have chosen it at the start and voila here she is. Arian is a member of WFTGA ""world federation of tourist guide association"" and during the convention 2017 in which Iran was the host of more than 300 tourist guides from different countries, Arian was one of the volunteer tour managers. She has experience with European tourists in Iran and Iranians tourists in Europe as well. Arian believes by doing he rjob perfectly, she can help to make a better world, full of peace.

Arian has been guiding since Jan 2014

What to expect

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Meybod. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.

my first trip to Iran, hopefully not my last. Arian's tour was charming and we got to see some of the artisans at work. such a shame tourists can't go there at the moment - looks great

Great tour with Arian. I was amazed at how much she was able to show us and tell us in such a short time, yet it didn't feel rushed. Visiting the zilo workshop to watch the father and son weaving was a highlight.

Arian is an excellent, knowledgeable and personable guide. It was nice to see her friends allowing us into special places, especially during covid and I enjoyed her detailed descriptions of the weaving craftsmenship.
