Machupicchu - part lll Hike from the Sun Gate The view from the Sun Gate (2,730m/9,00ft) looking towards the Machu Picchu citadel is truly breathtaking, this is the reward for many hikers at the end of the Inca Trail. It forms part of the original path constructed by the Incas as they used to control the entrance to Machu Picchu with guards stationed at the Sun Gate. Join Mike as he greets those brave hikers arriving at the Sun Gate, and marvel at the beautiful landscape surrounding Machu Picchu as he takes you on a hike towards the entrance of the famous citadel and new wonder of the world.

Mike lazo Gamarra

Mike was born and raised in Cusco, the Capital of the Inca empire. He has been working in tourism since 2003 and has been a professional hiker since 2007. He has hiked the Inca Trail more than 500 times where he shared his love and knowledge of his culture. He has a Tourism and an Archaeologist degree and will take you on an unforgettable virtual tour through his home town and provide you with a unique perspective of the Inca history.


What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Machu Picchu with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 60 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Machu Picchu. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.


Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
