This is not a traditional tour. Instead, it's a trip through the mind of the famous bad boy of the Italian Renaissance, Niccolo Machiavelli. In his most famous work, The Prince, Machiavelli praised "the Duke" Cesare Borgia for how he handled the takeover of the area north of the Papal States. Borgia was a part of a powerful and ruthless family, and he was likewise ruthless, yet Machiavelli said he did everything with perfection except--he died too soon! Borgia was Machiavelli's number one example of quality leadership, and we might not like the lessons he draws from Cesare's experience, but we might end up having to admit he's at least partially right. I'll talk about what Borgia did that Machiavelli admired so much (hint--it's bloody), and I'll leave plenty of time for questions!
