In this tour we will learn about the history of the Jewish community of Lima, focusing specially on its colonial roots during the period of the Spanish occupation of Peru. To do so we will follow the foot steps of one of the most important representers of this 17th century “secret” community of Lima, Manuel Bautista Perez, a Portuguese merchant accused of being Jewish in 1635, and later killed by the inquisition in 1639. We will also learn about the Inquisition of Lima and the history of the “Autos de fe” in the new world. Learn about the history one of the less known, smallest, and oldest non-indigenous communities of Peru in this intriguing , surprising and touching tour that you should not miss.

Particularly interesting, as I've never been to South America. Seemed to be a good feeling for Lima, and I enjoyed the architecture, including the colonial buildings. I hadn't been aware of a Jewish history in Lima, so this was interesting too.

Nice job. Very painful to hear about effects of the inquisition.
